I have been involved in the marine industry for nearly 30 years in both a employed and self employed capacity.
An early interest…
My early years were spent sailing my family’s wooden yachts from 40’ to 110’. Having finished at Rydal School in North Wales I went to work in local boats yards building wooden fishing vessels and yachts.
Employment…
I found my way to Hamble where I worked for a couple of Yacht retailers, importing and selling Beneteau yachts, specialising in the fitting out and after sales service. During my employment I surveyed a number of yachts for my employers, pre-delivery, pre- purchase and condition. In 1983 I set up Roger Pimm Yacht Management and Marine Services, offering yacht management, repair and maintenance, yacht delivery worldwide, project management of new builds and major refits.

- Yacht Masters Certificate
- Boat Masters Certificate
- I hold Pilots Certificates for Portsmouth, Cowes and Poole.
- I am a member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying and have full P.I insurance.
I have known Roger Pimm in excess of 30 years both in the capacity of yachtsman and commercial master, as well as surveyor. He has always displayed the finest seamanlike qualities and, due to this experience, brings to the marine surveying world a wealth of basic practical knowledge. I have surveyed around 100 yachts over the last 15 months including a 41m Split hopper barge prior to a 5 year
loaded line survey by the MCA.
